Hello all –
This is the first week that we are trying out the "HPL HELPS" desk. For one hour, two times a week, I will be available for social services referral assistance on the 3rd floor (at the second R3 Desk).
Please feel free to refer patrons to me during this time. If at any point throughout the week someone is needing assistance with the following items, you may direct them to visit me on the 3rd floor Tuesdays 11-12 and/or Thursdays 3-4.
HPL HELPS REFERRAL ASSISTANCE:
- Directions/Guides for nearby social service agencies
- Project Access bus stops and distribution sites
- Information on applying for an ID
- Help applying for benefits
- Setting up an email
- Contacting an agency or sending documents re: an existing case
- Setting up appointments
Basically, this is a more hands-on version of our "Homeless Help" link on the blog. Friendly reminder that I am not a social worker and cannot assist with housing or more complicated issues - for those type of inquiries, please refer patrons to SEARCH consultation hours every Wednesday from 11-12.
