Good Afternoon –
The Parking Policy and related Procedure were recently revised by the Policy Committee and approved by the Executive Leadership Team. Changes dealt with several issues relating to parking in the Central Library parking garage. Key portions that you need to be aware of are:
• Machine malfunction section was clarified
• Short-term disability requirements were provided
• Instruction on returning access cards, hang tags and bus passes was provided
• Staff who utilize transit passes will have six “free of charge” parking passes for personal reasons
• Notice of the prohibition of sharing or swapping employee parking access cards or spaces was provided
• Reminder of disciplinary action that can occur when there is a violation of parking rules was provided
You can review the entire policy and procedure by visiting the library’s intranet site, at https://hplnet.hpl.lib.tx.us/. Once there, choose Forms and Documents/Policies and Procedures. The policy and procedure are under the FIDS tab, policy 7.1.

If you are not sure of your designated parking space, please call Belinda Cox at 832-393-1682 for parking assignment.
If there are issues concerning equipment failure or validation process, staff are asked contact the FIDS Office (832-393-1682).
