As discussed in our meeting this past Friday, we are seeing a lot of people coming in with over-sized bags, more than two bags, bedrolls/sleeping bags, and some customers are leaving their bags unattended. Here is the procedure we need to follow in order to keep our workplace safe and not problematic:
1) Notice a violation of policy conducted by a customer.
2) Call the security office at 31648, inform the guard on duty about the issue, providing a detailed description of the person as well as the policy they are violating.
3) Call or email a supervisor to inform us of the issue.
4) Follow up with the supervisor if a guard does not investigate within 15 minutes.
Do not be afraid to call the office. With more and more policy violations occurring, we must be uniform in our enforcement of ALL policies so customers don't feel we are picking on certain people.
What you permit, you promote, so if you don't report the infraction as it happens, you lose the ability to complain about it later!
