Streets Around Library
Closed: McKinney Street, Smith
Street, Bagby Street, Allen Parkway
Art Car Parade will be taking place downtown
this year due to the construction on Allen Parkway. McKinney Street will
close at 7pm on Friday, April 8 through all day on Saturday. All
traffic not exiting the garage by this time will be diverted out the entrance,
facing possible delays in exiting. The entrance ramp to the parking
garage will be converted to two-way traffic for all day on Saturday.
Streets closures for Saturday will be gradually
phased in. In the morning, there should not be any impediments getting to
the Central Library complex. Starting at about 1:00 PM, the parade route
will close and all staff and customers are instructed to access the Library
Garage by using West Dallas to Dallas to Brazos. From about 1:30
PM – 3:30 PM, access INTO the Central Library complex from the above
listed route will be limited and delayed due to the parade. Access out
will be minimally affected for staff and customers. A parking pass will
be necessary ONLY if entering the Library complex during the 1:30
PM – 3:00 PM time frame.
