The Komen
Houston Race for the Cure was rescheduled in the aftermath of Hurricane
Harvey. It will take place primarily on Allen Parkway and should have
minimal to no impact on the Central Library complex. Setup for the event begins
around 7pm on Friday, January 26 (Allen Parkway shuts down in and out of
downtown).
A small portion of Bagby will be closed during the day, but staff and
customers will still be able to utilize the entrance and exit to the parking
garage. A parking pass will not be required.
It is recommended to avoid Allen Parkway in coming
into downtown as there will be detours. Please allow extra time due to
heavy traffic expected in the downtown area.
