Subject: Attention: network maintenance Thursday night, August 14 - 9PM
Good afternoon, all.
We have just learned that the City of Houston has mandated an equipment switchout for Thursday night that will affect staff and public access to III services.
Justin Ewald will be performing this equipment switch at 9PM Thursday night. He anticipates it will only take 30 minutes or so, but advised me that it may take as long as two hours. During this time, although the III servers will not be shut down, access to anything that goes through our network -- the WebPAC, databases, and staff Millennium modules -- will not be accessible.
We apologize for this inconvenience and hope it will not greatly impact customers.. You will want to make sure all staff have completed any activities in Millennium before closing down for the day. Thank you for your patience, and please let us know ASAP if you observe anything unusual Friday morning.
