After checking quite a few applications, I thought perhaps I should clear something up in regards to renewing cards w/ fines. Any time a customer comes to renew their cards, they must pay their fine before recieving their updated account, meaning if you are on self-check or laptop desk, guide the customer to the register at the circ desk in order to expedite their request if they are paying by cash. If they are paying by credit, of course they can be assisted at any desk or they may also use the card catalog to pay fines. Even if a customer states they will pay the fine before they leave, we cannot falter in this policy.
Keep in mind that when you are replacing a non-expired card the customer does not have to pay off fines . Also, if you are simply replacing the card, don't forget to put a date next to the old card number indicating when the card was replaced.
