Dear Daniel,
When is it okay to give change from the register?
Never Change
Well, Never, the answer is never. I understand some people don’t come in with exact change for the copier or to get a drink in the Teen room, but we should never open the register unless we are paying a fine, running our start of day till or our end of day till. Should they require change, direct them to local businesses or banks. And remember, our keystone is fair and equitable treatment, meaning if you give one person change, you must give everyone change and the last thing want is to set a precedent.

Dear Daniel,
I accidentally printed something multiple times and the printer won’t stop! How do I cancel a print job through Windows 7?
Windows Winner
Well, Winner, note the bottom right hand corner of your screen near the date/time. To the left you should see an arrow pointing up. When you hover your mouse above it, it should say “Show Hidden Icons”. Click on the arrow and a pop-up menu will appear and you should see an icon that resembles a printer. Right click on the icon and select “Open Active Printers”. A new window will appear listing all print jobs for that computer. Right click on each job and select “Cancel Job”. You should notice a change in status for each (Should say “Deleting Job” or something to that effect). Keep in mind the Printer icon will not appear unless you are printing something.

Dear Daniel,
With the new policy in place, is it true you can no longer have customer pull up their bank or credit card statements online to verify address?
Betty Banker
Actually its true, Betty, and I’m glad you asked. We must have something that has gone through the mail, verifying that the US Postal Service recognizes it as the customer’s address.

Daniel,
I noticed a “VOID” button on Smart Money Manager, but I’ve never been trained on it and none of my coworkers have either. Should we be using this? If we will, when will we be trained to use it?
Vicious Voider
Voider,
Please don’t. And we won’t be doing training on it. As a rule, the supervisors and managers don’t even do it, so whenever a sale is made, it is made permanently and should a refund be required, it must go through Financial Services. Fill out the paperwork as you would if the customer has done a “LOST/PAID” item and attach the PAYMENT RECIEPT and add a short note of why the refund is being requested.
Daniel
