A few updates for today:

We have recieved the buzzers (see picture) for the laptop area to give customers who are waiting on a laptop computer. We can't use these yet as we don't have the keypad for them. Yes, this does mean we are hoping to move away from the waiting list and yelling people's names across the library. Keep in mind that when you take the buzzer from the cradle, it will start buzzing. This is to let you know its working. If it does not buzz, put a note on it, report it and replace it in the cradle. Expect a posting tomorrow regarding the buzzers.
You may have noticed there is a cart in the sorting room with "ILL HOLDS ONLY" on it. As the sign states, the cart should only house ILL holds and we take them over to ILL whenever we're scheduled for "Holds". This basket is to prevent us having to walk each and every hold over to ILL.
Should you find a DVD case that will not open and it has the "lock" symbol shown in the picture, make sure to get this to Processing ASAP after placing the item on hold for the customer so they can get a copy. We cannot unlock it here, it must be sent back to the vendor to be unlocked.
