Clarifying message from Ron Stauss regarding AP 7.1 (Xerox Memorandum)

Greetings HPL Team

I saw the memo sent by City Finance this afternoon and felt that I needed to comment on it to avoid your concerns.
Please be clear that the AP 7.1 is written to pertain to Xerox printers.
HPL has only 5 of these devices and they are located at Marston, Clayton, HMRC, HALS and the Print Shop located on Central Library concourse.
There has been one in Central Library Materials Services but it is being cancelled.

Many of the “green” features being implemented have already been suggestions I have sent over the past 18 months for our own Staff printers and to conserve our budget. I did not suggest duplex printing as not all of our printers can do that. IT will be setting those that can, to take advantage of that feature. All of these settings can be overridden at the point when you choose the printer by touching the Properties button when you choose the printer.

For Marston, the security code may be of assistance in avoiding lost reports. We will provide instructions to Marston on its use since the person generating the print will have the option to enter a security code. If you do that, the print will remain in the queue until you go to the printer and key your code to release it.
If other locations with Xerox printers feel use of this code would be advantageous, we can help you enable this feature (Manager please notify the Helpdesk). Please know you will be entering it every time you print and it can be the same or different each time.

As usual, if you have questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thanks
Ron
