Good evening, all!
A few reminders for the Laptop Desk:
Laptops must be checked out by the cardholder (the personal owner of the card whose name it is registered under) w/ no exceptions. If the account is a minor account, we must have the child present to sign the contract. After the child signs the contract, if they decide to give it to someone else, that is their decision and we cannot counteract that, however I wouldn’t object to reminding the minor that any damage done to the laptop or if the laptop is lost is their responsibility.
Make sure we are checking ID names with the name on the card and the name that has been placed on the contract. We want to make sure that if something does happen to the laptop we aren’t holding the wrong ID and the wrong account accountable.
Keep in mind acceptable IDs for the laptop desk; Sam’s Club and Bank cards are not government issued and as such cannot be used to check out a laptop.
It’s important to remember that Laptop desk is one of the busier desks @ Central, and for this reason, we must limit our conversations with customers to common courtesy greetings and business transactions. While we understand the majority of this department is very social and enjoy a personal rapport with our customers, we must remember while customer service is important, we must be available to assist all customers at any point.
As always if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me as soon as possible!
