The Involuntary (Mandatory) Furlough program implemented on Dec. 30, 2010, concluded on June 30, 2011.
I am sincerely grateful to all City of Houston employees for the sacrifices you have made. Thanks to you, the City was able to get through the difficulties of the past year. Houston is as strong as its people, and City of Houston employees stood as strong as ever before. Now that we are in FY2012, we are done with involuntary furloughs. I look forward to a brighter future with all of you this coming year.
