June 2013 Events
The Houston Beer Fest will take place on Saturday,
June 8th, 2013 from 1 PM – 10 PM. Street closures will begin earlier in the
day. The Central Library parking garage will be open to the public
(parking passes will not be required). McKinney Street will be closed,
but Lamar Street will be open. Both staff and the public will access
the parking garage from the entrance ramp on Lamar Street. We will
have two security officers helping direct traffic.
Security working on the ramp, please inform anyone who parks in
the garage that the parking garage will close when the library closes at 5pm.
Any vehicles that haven't exited by this time will be stuck in the garage
until we reopen on Sunday. (This paragraph is
for Customers ONLY. Staff may leave at their usual time of 5:15 p.m.)
Please be prepared for other detours and street closures - leave a
little early to navigate street closures and plan your route ahead of time. If

• Plan ahead!
• Give yourself plenty of time to get to work.
• Please be patient and courteous to officers working street
closures - they are ensuring the safety of you and of parade spectators.
